Terms of Service

Acceptance

Parkova is operated by Abundare. By installing and using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please delete the app and stop using it.

What Parkova is

Parkova is an information service that reads Amsterdam's open parking-zone data and shows you whether the permit linked to your saved place is valid at a given location and time. We are not the gemeente Amsterdam, the RDW, or any other authority — we only display data they publish.

Use at your own risk

Parkova is provided "as is". The verdict shown in the app is our best interpretation of the official data, but:

• Data may be outdated, incomplete, or wrong.
• Time-based rules may not match every uitzondering format perfectly.
• Public holidays are not yet handled by the time logic.
• Our data covers municipal parking zones and their time windows only. Sign-level restrictions — disabled bays, loading zones, yellow markings, temporary works signage — are not in this data and always override the app's verdict.
• The official signage at the parking spot is always the authoritative source.

You are responsible for verifying parking rules at the spot. We are not liable for parking fines, towing, or any other consequences of parking decisions you make based on the app.

Your account

You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. We don't see your password — only Firebase Authentication does.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete account. This removes your Firebase Auth record and all Firestore data tied to your account.

Mijn Parkeren connection

Connecting your Mijn Parkeren account is optional. If you connect it, you authorize this app to act on your behalf in your Mijn Parkeren account, using the visitor-permit codes you provide.

• You remain solely responsible for all parking sessions started through the app, all costs incurred (balance deductions, municipal charges, fines), and compliance with municipality rules.
• This app is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or operated on behalf of gemeente Amsterdam or Egis Parking Services, and they are not a party to this agreement.
• The Mijn Parkeren functionality is provided "as is", with no warranty of accuracy or availability, and may be suspended at any time (for example if the underlying service changes).

Acceptable use

Don't:

• Use the app to harm, harass, or impersonate others.
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to disrupt our backend.
• Scrape or republish data we surface in a way that violates Amsterdam's open-data terms.

Do: use the in-app 'Report' link if you spot a wrong verdict — it helps everyone.

Intellectual property

The Parkova app, including its UI design, source code, and rule-parsing logic, is owned by its creators. Amsterdam's parking data is provided by the gemeente under open-data terms and remains theirs. You can use the app personally; you can't redistribute or rebrand it without our written permission.

Changes to the service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including the app itself. We'll do our best to give you notice via the App Store changelog or an in-app message for material changes.

Termination

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. After termination, the disclaimers in 'Use at your own risk' still apply to any parking decision you made while you were using the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts of Amsterdam, unless mandatory law says otherwise.
